2 men kill coworker, write apology letter
“Sorry, sir and ma’am. He was always cursing us.”
In a letter, two car wash boys apologized to their employers after they killed a coworker shortly after midnight Wednesday in Quezon City.
Police Officer 2 Alvin Quisumbing of the Quezon City Police District said that the handwritten letter was found beside the body of the victim, Bernardine Mendoza, 22, who had been stabbed to death.
Mendoza and the two suspects—who were identified by the police as Gerry Diaz and a certain Tony—worked at a car wash on Damong Maliit Street in Barangay Nagkaisang Nayon, Novaliches.
Their employer, Ronnie Timoteo, told the police that the three started working for him only five days ago.
He said that around 12:30 a.m. Wednesday, he was roused from sleep when he heard shouts coming from his garage which he had converted into a car wash shop.
Timoteo added that he got up to check on what was happening and he saw Diaz and Tony going out of the gate.
When he went to the garage, he said he saw Mendoza’s bloodied body lying on the ground.
Timoteo later found an unsigned letter beside the body addressed to him and his wife.
After apologizing for killing the victim, the letter writers, whom the police believe were Diaz and Tony, warned the couple against getting involved in the matter.
“Don’t interfere so that you won’t get mixed up in this,” the letter went.
