Victim’s CCTV camera didn’t save him

The owner of a closed circuit television (CCTV) camera  company was shot dead inside his house early evening in Quezon City on Tuesday, but ironically,  there was no footage of the actual shooting.

Inspector Elmer Monsalve, chief of the homicide investigation section of the Quezon City Police District, identified the victim as Geovic Espino, general manager of Vixtel Marketing and Services, which sells and installs CCTV cameras.

Espino was shot  dead inside his house at   Barangay Culiat around 6:25  p.m.  by a  gunman, accompanied by six other masked men.

The victim was with two companions when he was shot, but they  were not harmed.

Witnesses said  the suspects followed Espino as  he returned to his house after seeing off a  visitor. They left on two motorcycles after shooting the victim.

“There was no CCTV in the area where he was shot. It   was installed in another part of the house, ” Monsalve  said.

Senior Police Officer 1 Johnny Mahilum, officer-on-the-case, said they have yet to establish the motive of the killing.
