MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. led a “situation briefing” via teleconference in Tacloban as continuous rains and floodings hound Northern Samar and several other provinces.
The conference was held Thursday as severe flooding hit Samar and Panay islands, affecting at least 318,000 people. The flooding was triggered by the combined effects of two weather systems – a low-pressure area (LPA) and a shear line.
“Situation briefing via Zoom in Tacloban on the combined effects of a shear line and LPA in Northern Samar,” Marcos’ Facebook story caption reads.
