MANILA, Philippines — A magnitude 4.2 earthquake shook Canlaon City in Negros Oriental on Wednesday, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.
According to Phivolcs, the earthquake happened at 3:58 a.m.
It was volcanic-tectonic in origin and had a depth of focus of one kilometer.
The epicenter was located northwest of Canlaon City.

Phivolcs said that instrumental intensity II was recorded in La Carlota City, Negros Orriental.
It added that no damage to property or aftershocks are expected.
