COVID-19 cases higher by 7% on Nov 14 to 20 compared to previous week

The Department of Health (DOH) on Monday said it recorded 1,210 infections from November 14 to 20, slightly higher than the previous week’s 1,132.

MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Health (DOH) on Monday said it recorded 1,210 infections from November 14 to 20, slightly higher than the previous week’s 1,132.

Based on the DOH’s latest weekly tally, the said infections translated to a daily average of 173, 7 percent higher than the 162 average cases recorded from November 6 to 13.

Fourteen of the new infections were tagged as critical or severe, with a total of such admissions currently at 284.

On the other hand, nine additional deaths were added in the country’s COVID-19 death toll, four of which were recorded in the previous two weeks.

Meanwhile, despite the rise in cases, utilization of ICU beds decreased from 11.5 to 10.1 percent, while non-ICU bed utilization decreased from 18.3 to 16.1 percent.
