Police Regional Office 1’s Facebook page hacked

MANILA, Philippines — The Facebook page of the Philippine National Police – Regional Office 1 (PRO1) was hacked on Saturday, according to its Public Information Office.

In its announcement on Saturday, the PRO1 Public Information Office said that it was “taking immediate action” to recover the account.

“Please be informed that the Facebook page, Police Regional Office 1, has recently been hacked. We are taking immediate action to regain control of the account and secure it to prevent further unauthorized access,” the Facebook page of the PRO1 Public Information Office said.

The PRO1 Public Information Office also apologized for suspicious activities, messages, or posts that were made using the compromised page.

“There may have been suspicious activities, messages, or posts made using our compromised Facebook page. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience or confusion caused by these unauthorized actions,” it added.
