MANILA, Philippines — Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) is monitoring two low pressure areas (LPA) on Saturday, with one inside the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR).

According to Pagasa, the LPA inside the PAR was seen 605 kilometers east of Guiuan, Eastern Samar.

It has a low chance of developing into a tropical depression in the following days.

The trough of this LPA, along with the shear line, will bring cloudy skies and scattered rain showers and thunderstorms in Visayas, Northern Mindanao, Caraga, and Davao region.

Meanwhile, Pagasa said the low pressure area outside the PAR was seen 2,495 kilometers east of Mindanao.

It also has a low chance of becoming a tropical depression in the next days, and is not expected to directly affect the country.

The northeast monsoon, on the other hand, prevails in Luzon, Pagasa noted.

Cloudy skies with light rains are expected over Cagayan Valley, Apayao, and Bicol region, while the rest of the island will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains.

The rest of Mindanao will likewise have partly cloudy to cloudy skies.

Due to localized thunderstorms, isolated rain showers or thunderstorms are expected in the area.

According to weather specialist Daniel James Villamil, gale warnings are raised in the following areas:

Batanes

Ilocos Norte

Ilocos Sur

Cagayan, including Babuyan Islands

Isabela

Aurora

The northern coast of Quezon, including the Polillo Islands

Camarines Norte

Albay
