THE B-MEG Llamados and the Mapfre Insular continued their romp over the rest of the field as they logged victories to keep their lead in the standings in their respective divisions in the 2012 University of San Carlos Boys High Alumni Basketball Association last weekend at the USC North gym.
The Llamados defeated the Cebu Vet Doctors, 97-75, behind another dominant performance from ex pro Lou Regidor.
Regidor once again torched the nets, scoring 43 points as B-Meg hiked its record to 3-0 (win-loss) in division 1. Bai 91 also shares the same record after it eked past RJC Customs, 77-74.
Mapfre logged two wins in division 2 to push its record to 3-0 as well.
It first downed the 99ers, 78-65, behind the scoring of Kevin Jake Arriesgado, who had 17 and Luigi Bercede, who had 10 markers. It kept the pressure up and then trounced Park ’N Go, 61-52.
The defending champions in division 2 Yayoy’s Grill improved its record to 3-1 with a pair of wins.
It routed Lite Shipping, 71-52, behind Andrei Ynclino’s 19 points and then proceeded to upend the USC Faculty, 81-57, as Earl Abellanosa exploded for 28 points.
In other results, Batch 84 defeated the 89ers, 76-67; Cafe Laguna downed Batch 90, 113-90; Batch 95 beat RC Goldline, 74-72; Lite Shipping bounced back with a win over Type R, 69-56; USC Faculy got a 79-75 win over Type R; Color Blind beat RC Goldline, 77-54; 99ers defeated Batch 95, 58-54 and Cebu Tech Jobs triumphed over Dosmiltres, 61-51. /Correspondent Jonas Panerio
