MANILA, Philippines — Authorities revealed the recovery of evidence showing that the two Taguig high school students ingested an unknown drug before they died.

Taguig City Police Director Colonel Robert Baesa said they have yet to determine the type of drug since toxicology testing on the bodies of the two teenagers is still ongoing.

The two female students, whose names were withheld by police, were found dead inside Signal Village National High School on November 10.

“Tuloy-tuloy pa rin po ‘yung investigation namin regarding the issue. We’re still waiting for the toxicology result and nagi-interview pa rin po kami up to now,” Baesa said in an interview with Radyo 630.

(Our investigation regarding the issue is still ongoing. We’re still waiting for the toxicology result and we are still conducting interviews up to now.)

“Kasi po mayroon po kaming nakuha dito na as evidence, na before that, mayroon po silang mga ininom na gamot,” he added, referring to retrieved conversations between the two students about them taking the drug.

(Because we got something here as evidence that before they died, they had taken this drug.)

Investigators previously said that initial evidence would show there was “no foul play” in the death of the two female students.

Nevertheless, the police and the Department of Education investigated the matter separately.
