MANILA, Philippines — All 10 top notchers of the recently conducted Geologists Computer-based Licensure Examination are from the University of the Philippines (UP) – Diliman, the results released by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) show.
The PRC announced on Wednesday that 165 out of 351 takers passed the November 2023 examination.
The only top-performing school is none other than the UP Diliman itself. According to the commission, it is the only school that has at least an 80% passing percentage. Forty-eight out of 52, or 92.31% of its examinees passed the licensure test.
The following are the top notchers for the November 2023 Geologists Licensure Examination:
- Jerome Garcia Formaran — 84.70%
- Paulo Lim Realengo — 83.80%
- Twinkle Caubalejo Kang — 83%
- Gerard Vann Vincent Tacuyan Gomez — 82.80%
- Venus Aquino Tagle — 82.70%
- Aris Paolo Afable Castro — 82.50%
- Paul Joshua Paclibar Villora — 82.40%
- Sophia Therese Leonida Pamati-an — 82.20%
- Rio Angela Funakoshi Castro — 81.80%
- Rose Valerie Aranda Pimentel — 81.60%
Meanwhile, the rates of the overall performance of other schools, in alphabetical order, are as follows:
- Adamson University — 49.30%
- Mapua University (For M.I.T.) – Manila — 48.21%
- Negros Oriental State University (CVPC) – Dumaguete — 23.81%
- Partido State University – (GOA) GAO — 8.57%
- University of the Southeastern Philippines – Davao City — 60.38%
The PRC said that the test was held in the National Capital Region and was administered by the Chairman of the Board of Geology Hon. Fernando S. Peñarroyo, and the board’s members, Hon. Benjamin S. Austria and Hon. Elmer B. Billedo.

The registration for the issuance of the Professional Identification Card and Certificate of Registration will be done online from December 12 to 14.

The PRC instructed passers to visit their website and follow the instructions there for the initial registration.
The Commission noted that successful examinees should personally register and sign in the Roster of Registered Professionals.
It added that the date and venue for the oath-taking ceremony will be announced later.
