Red Lions try to extend run vs Mapua
THE reigning NCAA champions San Beda Red Lions hope to sustain their unbeaten run today when they take on the Mapua Cardinals in the 2012 Filoil Flying V Preseason Hanes Cup at the Arena in San Juan City.
The UAAP champions Ateneo Blue Eagles will also try to keep in step with the leaders in group A when they face off against the University of the East Red Warriors in the main game of a triple header which also features a game between the group B leaders National University Bulldogs and the Emilio Aguinaldo College Generals.
With the threat of a disastrous season in the NCAA looming on the horizon by virtue of the suspensions that most of the Red Lions received during the offseason for a fracas late last year, San Beda has kept the pedal to the metal, winning over UE, 91-57, last Saturday.
Ateneo also won their second straight for a 4-1 (win-loss) mark after dumping the University of the Philippines Fighting Maroons, 69-60. /Correspondent Jonas Panerio
