TACLOBAN CITY — The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) in Eastern Samar has suspended sea voyages in and out of the province due to the bad weather caused by a shear line.
In an advisory released on Thursday, Nov. 16, the PCG based in Borongan City said it was suspending voyages of all sea vessels or sea crafts within its jurisdiction due to the ”strong gale-force winds” associated with the monsoon rains and the possible effect of the inclement weather as announced by Pagasa.
“All vessels are reminded to take precautionary measures and be extra vigilant in monitoring the movement of typhoons if deemed to be affected by said weather disturbance,” the advisory read.
The suspension, it added, would be lifted once the weather condition improves.
Meanwhile, Mayor Gina Ty of Taft town, also in Eastern Samar, suspended classes in all levels and work in all government offices on Thursday due to the bad weather.
The suspension of work and classes, the mayor said, was intended to ensure the safety of the students, teachers, and workers.
Those working relative to the peace and order, disaster risk reduction management, health and sanitation, however, are not covered by the suspension order, Ty said.
