MANILA, Philippines —  A man who stabbed a family of four in Antipolo City last November 12 has been arrested and is currently facing four counts of frustrated homicide, police said on Wednesday.

Antipolo police chief Lt. Col. Ryan Manongdo told INQUIRER.net that the 37-year-old suspect, Joseph Delda, was apprehended by authorities on Tuesday along the mountainous part of Barangay San Jose.

“Yung kinakasama niya, sinisingil sila sa utang. Nakainom siya at nairita. Previously, may mga incident din na involved ito hindi lang nilabasan ng warrant. Arrested na po ‘yan; nasampahan na ng complaint four counts of frustrated homicide,” Manongdo said in a phone interview.

(The victim asked the suspect’s live-in partner to pay their debt. Delda was drunk then and became irritated; that’s why it happened. The suspect was involved in other crimes in the past, but no warrant of arrest was issued against him. He’s already arrested and is facing four counts of frustrated homicide.)

Based on Antipolo police’s records, the stabbing incident occurred around 3:30 p.m. on Monday in Greenview Ville in Sitio Kay Sakat 2, Barangay San Jose.

The victims were identified as Sherly Renovilla, 52; Sherylou Santos, 21; Michelle Renovilla, 34; and Leslie Joy Amparado, 23. They sustained multiple stab wounds in various parts of their bodies.

After Delda left the area, neighbors of the victims brought them to Rizal Provincial Hospital, where they are currently recuperating.
