Korean tourist drowns in Panglao, Bohol resort swimming pool

TAGBILARAN CITY — A vacation turned tragic after a tourist allegedly drowned on Monday, Nov. 13, in a swimming pool in Panglao town, Bohol.

Yongjun Cho, 41, a South Korean national, went for a swim at the pool in a resort in Barangay Danao on Monday night with his family.

Cho was found unconscious around 6:30 p.m. in the deepest part of the pool.

The wife, identified as Kim Kyoung, together with the resort staff member, tried to revive the victim.

Yongjun was rushed to the Gov. Celestino Gallares Medical Memorial Hospital in this city but was declared dead on arrival.

Initial investigation by Panglao police revealed that the victim sipped some liquor before he dived for a swim.
