Honoraria for poll workers already distributed – Comelec

MANILA, Philippines — The honoraria for teachers who served as poll workers during the 2023 barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections (BSKE) have already been fully distributed, the Commission on Elections (Comelec) said on Monday.

Based on data provided by the Comelec to reporters, as of Nov. 13, all 605,379 members of electoral boards nationwide have already been given their honoraria.

Comelec said it has also completed distributing honoraria to 37,333 Department of Education (DepEd) supervisor officials (DESO), and DESO Support Staff (DESO-SS).

According to Comelec Chair George Garcia, the total honoraria for poll workers amounted to almost P7 billion.

Chairpersons of EBs were paid P10,000 each and members P9,000.

DESOs received P9,00 and DESO-SS P5,500.
