Tropical depression off Mindanao may enter PAR by midweek — Pagasa
MANILA, Philippines — A tropical depression off Northeastern Mindanao may enter the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) by late Wednesday or Thursday, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).
In its Monday afternoon update, Pagasa said the tropical depression was spotted some 1,465 kilometers east of Northeastern Mindanao.
“Posibleng pumasok itong bagyo sa ating PAR by late Wednesday or ‘di kaya by Thursday,” said Pagasa weather specialist Veronica Torres.

Torres said the tropical depression will be given the local name “Kabayan” once it enters PAR.
While it will not yet directly affect the country, Pagasa said the northeast monsoon will bring cloudy skies and rain over Northern Luzon.
Meanwhile, the shear line will likewise bring overcast skies and thunderstorms to Quezon province and the Bicol region.
Partly cloudy to cloudy skies are likewise be expected over the rest of Luzon.
Eastern Visayas will likewise experience overcast skies and rain showers, also due to the shear line, while the rest of Visayas and the entire Mindanao will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies.
