Senator Risa Hontiveros extended condolences to the bereaved family of veteran journalist Rina Jimenez-David who passed away on Sunday morning.

MANILA, Philippines — Senator Risa Hontiveros extended condolences to the bereaved family of veteran journalist Rina Jimenez-David who passed away on Sunday morning.

“Lubos akong nakikiramay sa mga naulila ni Rina Jimenez-David, kabilang na ang kanyang pamilya at mga kaibigan, kabilang kaming mga kasama niya sa Pilipina, ang unang organisasyong nagturo sa akin ng peminismo,” Hontiveros said in a statement.

The senator remembered David as a feminist, a women’s rights champion, and a journalist whose advocacies shone through her writing.

“I remember that she was one of the clearest voices in the public sphere supporting the RH [Reproductive Health] Bill, which she recognized as a landmark women’s health policy,” the senator said.

“While she may have died, her memory will remain alive through the words she masterfully crafted,” she added.
