MANILA, Philippines — Around 110,000 people are expected to benefit during the Bagong Pilipinas Serbisyo Fair in Bukidnon this weekend as more than P379 million in cash assistance is set to be handed out to qualified recipients.

“May ilang probinsya na rin po ang nakaranas ng ginhawa na dala ng ating Serbisyo Fair pero masasabi ko po na itong Bukidnon ang isa sa pinakamaraming beneficiaries na napadalo,” Speaker Martin Romualdez said at the opening of the event.

Bukidnon is the seventh stop of the Bagong Pilipinas Serbisyo Fair. The activity involves the giving of cash aid under the Department of Social Welfare and Development’s Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situations program and the Department of Labor and Employment’s Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers or TUPAD program.

Romualdez said that the objective of the Bagong Pilipinas Serbisyo Fair is to bring government services to people in the provinces. He said they aim to bring the fair to the country’s 82 provinces.

“Sa Bagong Pilipinas Serbisyo Fair, layunin namin na hindi lamang mapadali, kundi mas mapalawak pa ang pagpapa-abot sa ninyo sa lahat ng serbisyong laan ng gobyerno,” he said.

(At the Bagong Pilipinas Serbisyo Fair, our goal is to not only facilitate, but also expand your access to all government services.)

The Bagong Pilipinas Serbisyo Fair were previously held in Biliran, Ilocos Norte, Camarines Sur, Leyte, Davao de Oro, and Laguna.
