The entire country is expected to enjoy generally fair weather with a low chance of isolated rain showers or thunderstorms, primarily in the afternoon or evening, in the next two days, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa). Pagasa forecasts that from Monday until Wednesday, the northern and eastern sections of Luzon are expected to experience mostly cloudy skies with rains due to the northeast monsoon or “amihan.” By Thursday until Friday, Pagasa forecasts a low-pressure system to enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility, which will initially affect the eastern sections of Southern Luzon and Visayas. The Bicol Region, Visayas and the Caraga Region are likely to experience mostly cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to the trough of a low-pressure area or a potential tropical cyclone. —Russel P.
