Fire hits warehouses in Meycauayan City, Bulacan

MANILA, Philippines — Fire struck  three warehouses in Meycauayan City, Bulacan on Tuesday night and was extinguished before noon on Wednesday, the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) said.

The blaze started at 9 p.m. on Tuesday at the warehouses located on Langka St., Barangay Libtong, according to authorities.

Fire Officer 1 Lyca Mae Rufo told INQUIRER.net in a phone interview that the fire was raised to the fourth alarm by 10:40 p.m.

According to a report by BFP Bulacan Provincial Director and Fire Superintendent Jeanette Jusayan, relayed by Meycauayan City Information Officer Agnes Cayaban, the fire was contained at 7:33 a.m. and put under control at 11:02 a.m.

It was declared out by 12:11 p.m.

Two of the warehouses stored paper and plastic materials, Cayaban said.

Meanwhile, the third warehouse was empty.

Based on the report, the warehouses allegedly have no business permit.

No casualties were reported, and the information on the cause of the fire and estimated worth of damage is yet to be determined, Cayaban added.
