Manila sets new P16 tricycle, pedicab fare for first kilometer
MANILA, Philippines — The Manila Public Information Office (MPIO) on Tuesday released a new standard fare matrix for tri-wheel vehicles.
It also defined the sanctions for drivers who violate it.
In a Facebook post, MPIO announced the flat rate per passenger for tricycles and pedicabs for the first kilometer traveled is P16.
An additional P5 will be charged for every succeeding 500 meters.
Meanwhile, the flat rate for e-trikes is P20 per passenger within its approved route.

Article continues after this advertisementMPIO reminded that violators of the ordinance will face the following penalties:
- First offense – P1,000 fine with the issuance of Ordinance Violation Receipt (OVR) for Code 43 of Manila Traffic and Parking Bureau (MTPB) fines and penalties, and violation of Traffic Management Code of Manila
- Second offense – three days impoundment of the unit, fine with the issuance of OVR for Code 43 of MTPB fines and penalties, and violation of Ordinance Number 8092
- Third offense – seven days impoundment of the unit, P1,000 fine with the issuance of OVR for Code 43 of MTPB fines and penalties, and violation of Section 104-C of Ordinance Number 8092
- Fourth offense (habitual violators) – cancellation of permit, accreditation, and franchise
Passengers who want to report drivers who overcharged them should get the driver’s name, vehicle number, and route.
