MANILA, Philippines — Senator Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr. urged law enforcers to make accountable the perpetrators of the daring assassination of radio broadcaster Juan Jumalon.
Revilla strongly condemned the brutal killing of Jumalon and stressed that the incident was an attack against the country’s democracy.

“Ang anumang karahasan sa mga mamamahayag, ay karahasan laban sa ating demokrasya. This in no uncertain terms is an affront to our free press,” said Revilla.

“I challenge all our law enforcement agencies to make accountable those behind this brazen attack against Mr. Jumalon – Radio Broadcaster of Calamba, Misamis Occidental,” he added.
Jumalon, a radio anchor and station manager of Gold FM 94.7, was gunned down by an unidentified assailant while doing a live broadcast on Sunday, November 5.
The National Union of Journalists of the Philippines earlier denounced the killing of Jumalon, noting that the case was the 199th killing of media workers since 1986 and the fourth under the administration of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.
