Cadiz gov’t plans to name evacuation center after caregiver slain in Israel
MANILA, Philippines — The Cadiz City government has paid tribute to Loreta Alacre, a Negrense caregiver who was killed during Hamas militants’ surprise attack against Israel last October 7, by naming its evacuation center after her, according to the Department of Migrant Workers.
DMW said a ceremony was held earlier Sunday after the remains of Alacre, who was among the four overseas Filipino workers killed in war-torn Israel, was laid to rest by her loved ones in Cadiz City, Negros Occidental almost a month after she died.

For his part, DMW officer-in-charge Hans Leo Cacdac expressed his condolences to the bereaved family.

Article continues after this advertisementCacdac said Alacre was killed along with her ward, an elderly Israeli citizen, whom she refused to leave behind.
Her body was transported back to her hometown in Cadiz last October 22.
