MANILA, Philippines — The Cadiz City government has paid tribute to Loreta Alacre, a Negrense caregiver who was killed during Hamas militants’ surprise attack against Israel last October 7, by naming its evacuation center after her, according to the Department of Migrant Workers.

DMW said a ceremony was held earlier Sunday after the remains of Alacre, who was among the four overseas Filipino workers killed in war-torn Israel, was laid to rest by her loved ones in Cadiz City, Negros Occidental almost a month after she died.

Cacdac said Alacre was killed along with her ward, an elderly Israeli citizen, whom she refused to leave behind.
