MANILA, Philippines — The easterlies, or warm winds blowing from Pacific Ocean, will bring overcast skies with scattered rain showers in some parts of southern Luzon and the eastern section of Mindanao.
Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) issued the forecast on Sunday.
“Itong easterlies naman, o ‘yung mainit na hangin galing sa karagatang Pasipiko ang nagdudulot ng mga kalat-kalat na pag-ulan na may pagkulog at pagkidlat sa ilang areas ng southern Luzon at itong eastern section ng Mindanao,” said state weather specialist Daniel James Villamil.
(These easterlies, or the warm winds from the Pacific Ocean, cause scattered rains with thunder and lightning in some areas of southern Luzon and the eastern section of Mindanao.)
The condition will be experienced particularly in Palawan, Caraga, and Davao region.
Meanwhile, the shear line, or convergence of cool and warm winds, will bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Batanes and Cagayan, including Babuyan Islands.
On the other hand, Metro Manila and the rest of the country may expect generally fair weather from morning to afternoon.
There are also chances of partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorms in the evening.
No gale warning alert is raised in any part of the country’s seaboards.
