The regional wage board in Caraga region is holding a series of public hearings this month for the daily minimum wage adjustment for private sector and domestic workers. The first hearing will be held in Surigao City, Surigao del Norte, on Nov. 20; Agusan del Sur province on Nov. 21; Bislig City, Surigao del Sur, on Nov. 22; Tandag City, also in Surigao del Sur, on Nov. 23; and Butuan City in Agusan del Norte on Nov. 24. Joffrey Suyao, regional wage board chair, said those interested to join the hearings could send their position papers from Nov. 6 to Nov. 24. The salary for minimum wage earners in Caraga was revised in June last year, putting the current rates at P350 a day for those in the private sector, and P4,000 a month for domestic workers.
