Aid beneficiaries should not be charged with any fees, says DOLE
MANILA, Philippines — The financial assistance Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) is handing out to workers are free of any charges or deductions.
These initiatives include projects done with other government agencies and private companies.
The department issued this reminder to prevent scams.
“The Public is hereby notified that all DOLE programs and services involving the release of funds to beneficiaries through Accredited Co-Partner (ACP) are free of charge and not subject to any fee,” DOLE announced in its advisory on Friday.
“DOLE maintains a zero-tolerance policy against any ACPs or individuals who abuse or exploit the Department’s programs for personal gain,” it said.
Article continues after this advertisement“This includes any form of facilitation fees and kickbacks, misrepresentation, or any other activities that harm the interests of beneficiaries,” it stressed.
Article continues after this advertisementDOLE warned, “Any ACP or individual found to be in violation of the Department’s guidelines will have its accreditation immediately revoked or will be watch-listed.”
The department is asking people to report abuses or violations of its programs through its hotline or by visiting its offices.
“You may contact us through DOLE Hotline 1349 or through the nearest DOLE Office in your area, with corresponding contact numbers published in the Department’s website,” it said.
