LUCENA CITY — Six suspected drug traffickers were arrested on Wednesday and Thursday in buy-bust operations in Laguna and Quezon provinces and yielded more than P518,000 worth of shabu (crystal meth) and two illegal firearms, police said.
One of the arrested suspects, identified as “Adam” was arrested around 1:15 a.m. Thursday by anti-narcotics operatives in Calamba City, Laguna after he sold a pack of shabu to an undercover police officer in Barangay Halang, the Region 4A police reported.
Authorities seized five sachets of shabu worth about P170,000 in the Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB) valuation.
On Wednesday, local police busted “Carlo” in Barangay Saimsim. He was caught in possession of seven sachets of meth with a DDB value of P136,000 and an undocumented caliber .45 pistol loaded with five bullets.
In Biñan City, police anti-narcotics operatives arrested “Randy” at 11:15 p.m. on Wednesday after he sold shabu to a poseur buyer in Barangay San Antonio.
The suspect was found with six sachets of shabu worth P103,500 as per DDB valuation. Also confiscated from the suspect was a caliber .38 revolver with five bullets without government permit.
In this city, police nabbed two alleged drug pushers identified as “Roberto,” “Krystel,” and “Joseph” in two separate operations on Wednesday.
The suspects yielded five sachets of shabu with a combined DDB value of P109,296.
All suspects are under police custody and face a complaint of violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
“Carlo” and “Randy” will also face another case for illegal possession of a firearm and violation of the gun ban under the Omnibus Election Code due to the barangay polls held on Monday.
The gun ban, which started on Aug. 28, will remain in effect until Nov. 29.
