Pagasa issues flood warnings in areas affected by weather disturbances

Pagasa weather update

MANILA, Philippines — Some areas in the country may experience flooding due to continuous rains on Wednesday caused by a low pressure area over the coastal waters of Dinapigue, Isabela, a shear line affecting eastern portions of Northern and Central Luzon, as well as the northeast monsoon.

According to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa), the rivers and tributaries fearing to be flooded are in these following regions:

Cordillera Administrative Region

  • Benguet – Rivers and its tributaries particularly Upper Bauang
  • Ifugao – All rivers and its tributaries
  • Apayao – Rivers and its tributaries particularly Upper Abulug and Upper Pamplona
  • Kalinga – All rivers and its tributaries
  • Abra – Rivers and its tributaries particularly Upper Abra, Tineg and Ikmin
  • Mountain Province – All rivers and its tributaries

Region 2 (Cagayan Valley)

  • Isabela – Rivers and its tributaries particularly Dikatayan, Divilacan and Palanan-Pinacanauan
  • Cagayan – Rivers and its tributaries particularly Linao, Lower Abulug, Lower Pamplona, Cabicungan, Aunugay, Baua, Palawig and Taboan

Region 3 (Central Luzon)

  • Aurora – Rivers and its tributaries particularly Casiguran, Aguang and Lower Umiray.

Region 4A (Calabarzon)

  • Rizal – Rivers and its tributaries particularly Upper Marikina and Kaliwa
  • Quezon – Rivers and its tributaries particularly Upper Umiray, Lower Bolbok (Lawaya), Malaking-Ilog, Iyam, Macalelon, Catanauan, Silongin Lagda, Pagsanjan, Yabahaan, Bigol, Guinhalinan, Vinas, Calauag, Pandanan, Sta. Lucia, Lugan Malaybalay, Maapon, Bucal (Lalangan), Lakayat, Tignoan, Agos, Anibawan (Polilio Island) and Upper Kilbay – Catabangan

Region 4B (Mimaropa)

  • Occidental Mindoro – Rivers and its tributaries particularly Abra De Ilog, Caguray, Labangan, Lumintao, Anahawin, Monpong, Amnay, Pola, Pagbahan, Mamburao, Ibod, and Bugsanga-Magbando
  • Oriental Mindoro – Rivers and its tributaries particularly Malaylay-Baco, Pulang Tubig, Mag-asawang Tubig, Butas, Pula, Agsalin, Bansud, Sumagui, Bongabong, Baroc, Bulalacao and Balete
  • Marinduque – Rivers and its tributaries particularly Tawiran-Tagum (Marinduque) and Boac

Region 5 (Bicol Region)

Pagasa also advised the disaster risk reduction agencies of the areas above, and their residents to take necessary precautionary measures.
