MANILA, Philippines — Typical cats, dogs and other animals, such as a dolphin, also have etched their memory on the Philippine Animal Welfare Society’s (PAWS) Pet Memorial Wall.

Wen Wen, the dolphin who died on a plane to Singapore in 2012, has a memoir on the wall.

According to PAWS, Wen Wen, along with 24 other dolphins, were brought to the Philippines to be trained for “cruel dolphin shows.” He was supposed to be transferred to an oceanarium in Singapore when he died during the flight.

Wen Wen’s death angered many, especially advocates against the capture and exploitation of dolphins.

“Swim freely across the rainbow bridge. We will never give up the fight; we promise,” a statement written in the dolphin’s memoir says.

Aside from Wen Wen, there are also chickens and a duck on the memorial wall. One of the chickens was named “Boy,”—PAWS staff and volunteers put its memorial there.

A pair of rabbits named “Malakas” and “Maganda” likewise have memoirs. PAWS said that their owners have regularly visited the two since 2010.

Along with the usual cats and dogs, other animals, such as a dolphin, also have memoirs in the Philippine Animal Welfare Society's (PAWS) Pet Memorial Wall.
