The Land Transportation Office (LTO) is seeking a full takeover of the IT system, which the government contracted from a German firm to handle all transactions in the agency since 2019 to finally resolve the perennial issues hounding the LTO.

LTO chief Vigor Mendoza II said the takeover of the Land Transportation Management System (LTMS) would not only expedite the services provided by the agency, but also address all the technical issues raised by the Commission on Audit and the Department of Information and Communications Technology.

“Our IT experts are capable of operating and maintaining the system. In fact, they are the ones who really work to fix the system to make the transactions easier and more comfortable to our end-users, and make the LTMS fully utilized as our online platform,” he said in a statement on Thursday.

The move was in line with the marching order of President Marcos to Transportation Secretary Jaime Bautista to digitalize all government transactions as part of proving faster and convenient services to the people.
