MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. has ordered the transfer of Development Academy of the Philippines (DAP) from Office of the President to National Economic and Development Authority (Neda).

According to Palace on Thursday, an organizational link between Neda and DAP is needed for the development of the Academy’s human resource development programs.

“Pursuant to the rightsizing policy of the national government, it is imperative to streamline and rationalize the functional relationships of agencies with complementary mandates to promote coordination, efficiency, and organizational coherence in the bureaucracy,” read the Executive Order (EO) Number 45.

The directive on the transfer of jurisdiction was signed by Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin on Wednesday.

Its copy was released to the media on Thursday.

DAP was established in 1971 through the issuance of Presidential Decree Number 205

The academy is mandated to promote and support the country’s development.
