DPWH to deploy roadside help teams for 'Undas 2023' travelers

MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) will extend roadside assistance to travelers during the upcoming “Undas” week.

In an advisory on its official Facebook page on Thursday, DPWH said aid teams will be deployed along major routes from 8 a.m., October 31, to 5 p.m., November 2.

The Philippines is set to observe All Saints’ Day on November 1 and All Souls’ Day on November 2 – usually a long public holiday to visit deceased loved ones in cemeteries or spend a break in provinces.

The roadside assistance teams will provide emergency services when needed, according to the DPWH notice.

“For three days, our “Lakbay Alalay” Motorist Assistance Centers will be operational to provide prompt and reliable assistance to motorists and travelers going to visit their departed loved ones this long weekend,” DPWH secretary Manuel Bonoan said.

The DPWH said it had conducted road inspections and repairs in time for Undas 2023.
