MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine National Police (PNP) will assign over 27,000 personnel nationwide to observe All Saints’ Day on November 1 and All Souls’ Day on November 2.
“Around 27,161 PNP personnel will be deployed for Undas,” PNP spokesperson and public information office chief Colonel Jean Fajardo told INQUIRER.net in a Viber message on Thursday.
“As to the road closure, no info yet,” she added.
Earlier, the PNP also said it would post 187,000 police personnel for the upcoming national events, primarily the Monday, October 30 barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) elections.
To maintain public security, the PNP activated checkpoints along the roads, resulting in the arrest of 1,785 gun-ban violators as of October 24.

Seized firearms reached 1,345 from August 28 until today (October 26).
Persons with expired licenses or unlicensed firearms surrendered 1,590 units to the police.
Others deposited 2,269 guns for safekeeping.
