VP Sara visits Comelec, DepEd command center for barangay, SK polls

MANILA, Philippines — Vice President Sara Duterte on Wednesday inspected the Commission on Elections (Comelec) and the Department of Education’s (DepEd) command center for the 2023 barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) elections in Intramuros, Manila.

Public school teachers will once again serve as election officers on Monday, October 30.

Comelec chairman George Garcia, in a press conference said that the poll body allocated space for the DepEd to build its own operations center for teachers.

Duterte, during the inspection then requested Comelec to look after the DepEd personnel who will man the command centers.

(Likewise, the Comelec showed earlier how it monitors all activities related to the election, from delivery to the payment of salaries or honoraria of our teachers for the barangay and SK elections.)

(We also showed the deployment of election paraphernalia on Friday where there will be an early deployment, and until Monday morning for those who are close to their places or schools.)
