MANILA, Philippines — No roads will be closed, but more than 200 traffic enforcers will be deployed on Wednesday for the Grand Heroes’ Welcome of the 19th Asian Games medalists.

The celebration will be held at the Rizal Memorial Sports Complex in Manila.

“There will be no road closures for the said event,” the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) said in its traffic advisory on Tuesday.

According to the MMDA, more than 200 personnel will be deployed to manage traffic in the area where the event will take place. They will also assist in emergency response at strategic locations along the venue and the route of the heroes’ welcome.

The athletes who competed in the 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou, China, will be honored by the Philippine Sports Commission in the event, the MMDA said.

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. will also be present at the Grand Heroes’ Welcome, the MMDA added.

The Philippines recently secured four gold medals, two silver medals, and 12 bronze medals in the 19th Asian Games.
