MANILA, Philippines — The Bicol Saro Party-list on Sunday expressed full support for House of Representatives Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez’s “inclusive and action-oriented leadership,” which led to the speedy passage of priority bills.
In a statement, Bicol Saro Party-list Rep. Brian Raymund Yamsuan thanked the Speaker for inspiring lawmakers to work hard to approve the measures.
“Speaker Romualdez has demonstrated how inclusive and action-oriented leadership, along with a high degree of professionalism, can result in record accomplishments for the House of the People,” said Yamsuan.
Yamsuan said that the House of Representatives was able to attain a 100 percent approval rate for the bills under the Common Legislative Agenda of the 19th Congress, well ahead of schedule.
Yamsuan added that Romualdez listened to and valued the inputs of every lawmaker, from district to party-list representatives, whether they belonged to the majority or minority.
He further explained that before the lower house adjourned last month, it managed to enact all 20 laws selected as priority measures by the Legislative-Executive Development Advisory Council ahead of its deadline at the end of December 2023.
Among these laws passed were the 2024 P5.768 trillion national budget, Trabaho Para sa Bayan Act, tax system reforms, measures to strengthen the fight against smuggling and online fraud, and the proposed Philippine Salt Industry Development Act.
