Labor day job fair
SM Supermalls nationwide will celebrate Labor Day with a simultaneous job fair on May 1.
The job fair will be participated by both the public and private sectors.
The activity will open with a short program at 10 a.m. at the SM Cebu Trade Hall.
Applicants are requested to bring an updated resume or bio-data, and other important requirements. Those hired on the spot will receive a gift from SM City Cebu.
Bosconians to meet
THE Bosconian International Chamber of Commerce Cebu Chapter (BICC Cebu) will hold its 4th general membership meeting on May 2 at 6 p.m. at the Aguinaldo room of Cebu Grand Hotel.
In observance of the labor month of May, the BICC Cebu has invited Labor and Employment regional director lawyer Gloria Tango to be its guest speaker.
Tango will talk about the Philippine Labor and Employment Plan 2011-2016. She will also discuss topics like incentivizing compliance program, voluntary code of good practices and the special program for the employment of students.
The BICC Cebu is composed of past pupils of Saint John Bosco who are now businessmen, corporate executives and professionals.

Counseling on alcoholism
THE First Cebu Group of Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) is giving free counseling on alcoholism.
Counseling sessions are held Mondays through Saturdays from 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Redemptorist Church convent’s conference room on Aboitiz Street and Queen’s Road in Cebu City.
Other meetings are at the Dr. Pardis Chiropractic Clinic at the second basement of Ayala Mall every Tuesday at 7:30 p.m., Lapu-Lapu City jail every Wednesday at 9 a.m., Lapu-Lapu City opposite Entermann building every Friday at 5 p.m. and at the Maries Restaurant (near Julie’s bakeshop) in Dalaguete town, southern Cebu every Sunday at 10 a.m.
Alcoholics Anonymous is a fellowship of men and women who share their experiences, strengths and hopes with each other that they may solve their common problem, which is alcoholism. It began in the USA in 1935 and later in Cebu in 1984.
