MANILA, Philippines — Land Transportation Office (LTO) chief Assistant Secretary Vigor Mendoza II has ordered all regional directors of the agency to intensify their information drive to let motorists know the registration processing of their motor vehicles and their renewal can be done online.

Mendoza issued the directive on Friday after LTO data revealed that only “1 percent” of vehicles in the Philippines have utilized digital transactions for new registrations and renewal of registrations of their motor vehicles.

“Our target is to change the current data, and make more car and motorcycle owners use our online platforms in their transactions with the LTO,” he added.

In February, the LTO announced that motorists could start renewing their vehicle registrations online through the Land Transportation Management System (LTMS) online portal.

The LTMS portal can be accessed by visiting this link: Land Transportation Management System. The portal includes features such as an online driving course, driver’s license application and traffic violations.
