MANILA, Philippines — A magnitude 3.8 earthquake struck Masbate on Tuesday afternoon, the state seismology bureau reported.
According to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs), the tectonic earthquake was northeast of Masbate City and had a depth of focus of seven kilometers.
The following intensities were felt in the locations below:
Intensity IV
Masbate – city of Masbate
Intensity II
Masbate – Aroroy, Batuan, and Monreal
Intensity I
Masbate – Palanas, Mandaon and Mobo
Meanwhile, the following intensities were recorded by Phivolcs:
Intensity IV
Masbate – City of Masbate
Intensity III
Masbate – Milagros and Monreal
Intensity II
Masbate – Aroroy
Intensity I
Albay – city of Legazpi
Phivolcs does not expect damage or aftershocks from the tremor.
