PH logs over 1,200 new COVID-19 cases Oct. 9-15
MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Health (DOH) has recorded 1,252 new cases of COVID-19 nationwide from Oct. 9 to 15, which is 1 percent lower than the 1,264 logged last week.
Citing its national COVID-19 case bulletin, DOH said the figure recorded from Oct. 2 to 8 went down by 12 cases. It also noted that the current figure of 1,252 — translated to a daily average of 179.
Of the new infections, DOH reported that 1.60 percent — or 20 patients — were categorized under severe and critical cases, while five verified deaths occurred in the past two weeks, from Oct. 2 to 15.

Article continues after this advertisementMeanwhile, the utilization of ICU beds was recorded at 12.9 percent, which means patients occupied 189 beds of the 1,464 available.
Based on DOH data, the new infections brought the country’s total caseload to 4,117,734, with 3,031 active cases, 4,047,989 recoveries, and 66,714 deaths.
