LUCENA CITY – A construction worker died and four others were injured on Friday (October 13) after a pile of rocks collapsed on their worksite in Antipolo City.
The Police Region 4A police said in a report Saturday (October 14), that Napoleon Bautista, Henry Ellar, Ramil Lachanebre, Sammy De Vera; and Jay Ar Dela Cruz, were working at a construction site inside a subdivision in Barangay (village) Sta. Cruz around 2:30 p.m. when suddenly, adobe rocks from the upper portion of the land at their work area rolled down and buried Bautista.
The four others were able to escape from the landslide and only sustained injuries.
Rescuers recovered Bautista from under the mountain of rocks and took him to the nearest hospital but he was declared dead on arrival.
The four other workers were taken to East Avenue Medical Center in Quezon City for treatment.
The police were conducting further investigation.
