Of the total cases, more than 30 had already been raffled to a Comelec division, while summons for 40 others are being prepared before the Office of the Clerk of Court.

The Comelec said it has also dropped for lack of factual basis 558 complaints against premature campaigning.

On Friday, Comelec sent 213 show-cause orders to candidates to explain why their candidacy should not be canceled for electioneering.

Meanwhile, Comelec has disqualified two candidates for “material misrepresentation” and two others found guilty in separate cases that banned them from any public office.
