MANDAUE ROBBERY

THREE men were arrested shortly after a robbery at the reclamation area in Mandaue City on Saturday night.

Leonard ‘Bonso’ Retavale, 18; Jeffrey Tan, 18, and Ramon Timkang, 29, were accused of robbing couple Jescy Bandillo, 22, and his wife Lina, 22.

Police said the alleged cohorts of the suspects identified as Maricel Perez and Renante Monterolla eluded arrest.

Police said the couple were walking along F.F. Cruz Street  in barangay Centro past 8 p.m. when they robbed at gunpoint.

Police said the robbers took Jescy’s necklace worth P2,500 and Lina’s shoulder bag which contained a cellphone worth P3,000 and P100 cash.

Responding police received a tip that the robbers ran to the house of Timkang where the suspects were eventually arrested.

Police said Perez and Monterolla noticed the arriving policemen and managed to run.

SUICIDE IN SIBONGA

A BARANGAY treasurer in Sibonga town, southern Cebu was found hanging dead inside his house last Saturday.

Police are still investigating what drove Neri Languita, 36, to hang himself. The victim was the treasurer of barangay Lindogon.

The victim was found by his son hanging from a beam inside their house.

Relatives rushed Languita to the town’s hospital where he was declared dead by attending physicians./CORRESPONDENT GABRIEL C. BONJOC

NABBED FOR MARIJUANA

A 32-YEAR-OLD man was arrested for allegedly selling marijuana sticks in barangay Ibabao-Estancia, Mandaue City on Saturday night.

Ricky Pada-on was arrested in a buy-bust operation conducted by operatives of the Opao police precinct in sitio Sapa-Sapa.

Police said Pada-on was handcuffed after  selling two marijuana sticks worth P100 to a poseur buyer.
