MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. has declared October 30, 2023, a special non-working day as the country holds the Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE).
The said declaration was contained in Proclamation No. 359 issued on Monday but was only released to the public this Wednesday.
“It is imperative that the people be given the full opportunity to participate in the said elections and exercise their right of suffrage,” said Marcos in the proclamation.
The Supreme Court has greenlighted the Commission on Elections to push through with the conduct of the BSKE this year as provided for under Republic Act No. 11935.
