Quezon City is PH’s richest LGU for three consecutive years

For the third consecutive year, Quezon City was declared as the country’s wealthiest local government unit (LGU), having an asset of more than P443 billion in 2022.

MANILA, Philippines — For the third consecutive year in a row, Quezon City was declared as the country’s wealthiest local government unit (LGU), having an asset of more than P443 billion in 2022.

Although a few billion less compared to its P451 billion assets in 2021, and P452 billion assets in 2020, the city still retained its position at the top of the list.

Next to Quezon City is Makati, which has an asset of over P239 billion. It is followed by Manila, which has an asset of more than P77 billion.

According to the Commission on Audit (COA) 2022 Annual Financial Report on LGUs, the following are the country’s top 10 wealthiest cities based on their assets:

Meanwhile, in terms of provinces, Cebu remains the wealthiest in the country. It has an asset of more than P235 billion and is already on its eighth consecutive year of being the richest province.
