MANILA, Philippines — East Zone water concessionaire Manila Water was named the Philippines’ Most Outstanding Company in the Utilities Sector in the 2023 Asiamoney’s “Asia’s Outstanding Companies Poll.”
Manila Water Investor Relations Head Mark Orbos received the award on behalf of Manila Water, in an awards dinner held at the Marina Bay Sands in Singapore last September 26.
The recognition came as a result of a poll conducted by Asiamoney, a leading financial publication covering Asian banking and financial markets, participated by more than 1,000 fund managers, research analysts and bankers in Asia.
Over 7,000 votes were received for publicly listed companies across 12 markets in Asia wherein 194 companies were recognized as outstanding for their sectors and in their markets. Manila Water was among the 15 companies from different sectors in the Philippines, such as banking, energy, real estate, telecommunications services, transportation, and others, that were given the said recognition.
The Asia’s Outstanding Companies Poll is designed to acknowledge publicly listed companies that have excelled in areas such as financial performance, management team excellence, investor relations and Corporate Social initiatives.

“For us in Manila Water, this award reflects our unwavering dedication to provide exceptional water and sanitation services to our customers, foster collaboration and meaningful partnerships with our stakeholders, and care for the environment, our people, and the communities that need support. We are grateful to Asiamoney for this award and to all the entities who voted and put their trust to the Company,” said Jocot De Dios, Manila Water President and CEO.
