MANILA, Philippines — The trough of a low pressure area off Eastern Visayas will bring overcast skies with rains in parts of Bicol, Visayas and Mindanao on Tuesday, the state weather bureau said.

The LPA was last spotted 1,305 kilometers east of eastern Visayas, according to Veronica Torres, weather specialist of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).

“We expect scattered rains and thunderstorms in the Mindanao area, Eastern Visayas, Central Visayas and Bicol region,” Torres said in a public weather forecast on Monday evening.

Torres, however, said the LPA has a low probability of becoming a tropical cyclone in the next 24-48 hours.

On the other hand, Metro Manila and the rest of the country are expecting fair weather with partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms, according to Pagasa.

Pagasa did not raise a gale warning in any seaboards nationwide.
