Taguig launches health caravan in ‘Embo’ barangays
MANILA, Philippines — Taguig City’s “Love Caravan,” a mobile health center that provides free medical services, made its visit on Saturday to the “Embo” barangays formerly under the jurisdiction of neighboring Makati City.
It made its first stop in Barangay West Rembo and served an estimated 2,000 residents, the city government said in a statement released the same day.
More barangays will be visited by the caravan in the coming weeks, it added.
Among the services that can be accessed through Love Caravan are free consultations, OB-Gyne services for pregnant women and those with gynecological problems, pharmacy services, and diagnostics and laboratory services including a complete blood count, urinalysis, random blood sugar, blood typing, chest X-ray, electrocardiogram, and ultrasound.
Free tooth extraction, maintenance medicines, and flu quadrivalent vaccinations for senior citizens, pregnant women, individuals with comorbidities, and healthcare workers are also available.
HPV vaccines are also available for children ages 9 to 14.
Nutrition services including cooking demonstrations of healthy meals and distribution of vegetables and other ingredients are also being offered by the caravan.
Aside from medical assistance, the city said that Love Caravan likewise facilitates the registration and distribution of identification cards for persons with disabilities and senior citizens.
