MANILA, Philippines — The administration of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. is committed to providing good jobs for Filipinos, said the Palace on Friday.
The latest report from the Philippine Statistics Authority showed that the country’s unemployment rate decreased to 4.4 percent in August compared to the previous 4.8 percent.
“The administration is resolutely dedicated to providing high-quality, well-paying job opportunities for the Filipino workforce. The labor market saw significant progress,” said the Presidential Communications Office (PCO) in a Facebook post.
The PCO recalled that the President had recently signed the Trabaho Para sa Bayan Act to improve the quality and quantity of jobs in the country.
The Senate’s approval of the Public-Private Partnership and the launch of the National Innovation Agenda and Strategy Document for 2023-2032 will also improve job opportunities, said the PCO.
“By focusing on these key initiatives, the government aims to propel the nation toward a more resilient and prosperous future, ensuring that the Filipino workforce not only survives but thrives in an evolving job market,” said the PCO.
