Ileto grandson shot by supermarket guard
A grandson of former Defense Secretary Rafael Ileto was shot and wounded by a supermarket security guard in an altercation in Quezon City on Friday. Florante Ileto, 28, was still confined as of Saturday at Cardinal Santos Hospital for wounds in the left arm and palm. Police said he was shot by Jomar Tamayo Jr., a guard at a supermarket on Congressional Avenue, Barangay Toro, at around 3 p.m. The two men reportedly had a heated argument after Tamayo, who was posted at the baggage counter, refused to accept Ileto’s packages for safekeeping. Hunt on for 6 who robbed, disarmed cop
The Manila Police District (MPD) is hunting six armed motorcycle-riding men who allegedly robbed a senior police officer of his service firearm and over P100,000 worth of valuables while he was having his car repaired at a shop in Tondo recently. On April 21, the victim, SPO3 Rowell Robles, was waiting at Barreta’s Auto Electrical Shop at the corner of Jose Abad Santos and Quiricada Streets, when the six men, all wearing helmets, arrived on three motorcycles. Four of the robbers got off their bikes and held the policeman at gunpoint as they took his 9 mm pistol, a wristwatch worth P75,000, a gold bracelet worth P50,000, and $ 30 in cash as well as his ATM and credit cards. Tondo mother afflicted with Alzheimer’s missing
The family of Milagros Bucud, 76, of Gagalangin, Tondo, in Manila has been searching for her over the past two weeks. Bucud, who has Alzheimer’s, has not returned home at 554-B Callejon R. Fernandez Street, Barangay 169, Zone 15, since she left on April 16, according to her daughter Rose Sabino. “She keeps on searching for and asking about our father— who died last year,” Sabino said. Dead man had ‘demon,’ ‘Ana,’ ‘Mary Jane’ tattoos
A man with a “demon tattoo” on his back was found dead—his body hogtied and stuffed in a sack and then in a garbage bag—at the old Smokey Mountain site in Manila yesterday. The unidentified victim’s head was wrapped in packaging tape with the inscription “Holdapper ako (I’m a robber).” PO3 Bernardo Cayabyab of the Manila Police District said the victim was apparently strangled and described him to be between 40 and 45 years old, 5’3” in height and wearing a white shirt and gray shortpants. The body was found at around 3 a.m. on Road 10 near Smokey Mountain Hill, Barangay 128 in Vitas, Tondo. Aside from the drawing of a demonic figure, the body sported other tattoos—“Ana 04,” “Mary El Jane.” Jeannette I. Andrade
